MoU Signed for a 2 GW TOPCon Solar Cell Production Line in India

IB Solar, centrotherm India and RENA Technologies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of a 2 GW TOPCon solar cell production line at IB Solar’s facility.

The MoU sets out the framework for the planned project, envisaging a consortium led by centrotherm, with German-origin production equipment supplied by centrotherm and RENA Technologies. The cooperation may cover installation, commissioning, process integration and production ramp-up. Detailed scopes of supply and commercial terms will be negotiated in subsequent agreements.

A separate Letter of Intent (LoI) between the three partners and ISC Konstanz outlines a technology partnership linking industrial production with European research. Further discussions could pave the way for an R&D Centre of Excellence, potentially supported by funding from the Indian government.
